Ethiopiaid UK puts ten NGOs to the test

February 2 2009 Charity News

Ten non-profit organisations working in Ethiopia have been chosen by Ethiopiaid UK to compete for their share of a £100,000 matched fund.

The £100,000 will be distributed by matching donations of up to £5,000 made through charity website theBigGive.org.uk. This funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. NGOs must rally supporters to ensure they benefit from the scheme.

Ethiopiaid UK Manager, Steven McVay, commented: "We hope that injecting funds and excitement into other worthy projects will increase awareness of Ethiopia's ongoing problems. We're looking to build a positive future for Ethiopia, and this is just one of the steps we are taking."

Matched Funding Update

£100,000 of funds have been allocated to A-CET (African Children's Education Trust), Care International UK, Christian Aid, Enable Ethiopia, FARM-Africa, Health Unlimited, Maternity Worldwide, Oxfam, SafeHands for Mothers and Water Aid.
